Hi guys,
my rear brakes on the driver side disintegrated a few days ago.
I am trying find replacement parts, second hand preferably. Channel Commercials want massive amounts of money for new parts.
Basically, i need everything except; The drum and shoes. Including the back plate as that got badly buckled. Not knowing the names of some of the parts does not help.
All the springs got bent and twisted, handbrake adjuster totally bent, everything else mangled.
Anybody got any suggestions for reliable breakers, phone numbers or maybe someone here has these parts and would like to sell??
Any info gratefully received Smile
Regards
Markkyboy

I know there's a seller on ebay that regularly has complete spring sets for £15-00. You might be able to mix new and old to do both sides?
Just found them on ebay - Item number: 350215209339, bit more money than I said. Wink

I,ve had to do 2 of these in the past and if i remember right the full kit from the dealer is really silly money, £150 seems to ring a bell.

The best thing to do is buy a complete back plate from a breaker who is prepared to split it from an axle.

Heres afew I found on Ebay:

Backworth Recycling Ltd

FAIRLIGHT COMMERCIALS

Hi guys
I got the brakes sorted in the end, CAT components did a generic kit comprising of the springs and bits I needed (£11), fortunately I know a really friendly biker who is a whizz with all things mechanical, he also heated and bent the rear plate back into position and then fixed the brakes!
Sadly the clutch has packed up on me now, but its going in on Monday to be repaired!
Time to update I think, the van is a bloody money pit!
